The Algerian Federation has filed an appeal to protest against VAR officials in their match against Burkina Faso on Saturday.
According to the Algeria Football Federation, the CAF appointed the same VAR official in their first game against Angola.
Full Statement from FAF “The Algerian Football Federation has officially lodged a complaint with the African Football Confederation regarding the appointment of refereeing during the Algeria – Burkina Faso matchday two of Group D of the 2023 AFCON TotalEnergies – Ivory Coast 2023.
While appreciating the efforts made to raise the level of continental football, the Algerian Football Federation has noticed an error in the officiating”
“The FAF does not understand why the CAF Refereeing Commission appoints the same VAR referee as in the first match, which raises legitimate questions about the level of such an appointment, especially since actions disputed during the match were not noted by the VAR referees, such as the fouls committed on our players at (10′) and (57′).
“The FAF’s complaint is based on verifiable facts to which the responsible referees must respond.
“Through this complaint, the Algerian Football Federation hopes for intervention so that the arbitration is of a better level and up to the prestigious continental competition. »
