CAF launches an investigation against Royal Moroccan Football Federation and Congolese Association Football Federation
The CAF has launched an investigation against the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (“FRMF”) and the Congolese Association Football Federation (“FECOFA” following post-match incidents during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 fixture between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
A fight broke out at the end of the Morocco vs DR. Congo match between Moroccan coach Walid Regragui and Congolese captain Chancel Mbemba.
The fight extended to the tunnel as seen in the pictures and some Moroccan players had to be restrained. CAF has opened an investigation into the matter.
Mbemba claimed that Regragui said something offensive to him that’s why he rudely reacted after the Morocco Vs DR Congo game which led to a physical fight in the tunnels.
