Mo Salah’s Africa Cup of Nations could be over after he suffered a hamstring injury against Ghana.
The Liverpool forward left the field injured on Thursday as Egypt played out a 2-2 draw.
Egyptian Federation announced, “The injury of Mo Salah with a strain in the hamstring muscle will cause him to miss two matches in the Africa Cup of Nations which means Salah will miss Egypt’s last Group B game against Cape Verde and in the Round of 16 in the case of qualification”.
Egypt are currently second in Group B after drawing their first two matches, with a win in the final fixture guaranteeing progression.
However, they will now have to do so without their star man, against a side that has already won the group.
