Togolese Legend, Emmanuel Adebayor has spoken about the situation surrounding André Onana’s late arrival to join the rest of the Cameroon team for the 2023 AFCON.
Andre Onana arrived in Côte d’Ivoire on Monday morning after being on duty for Man United against Spurs.
On arriving in Côte d’Ivoire, his flight was blocked in Abidjan due to bad weather conditions at Yamoussoukro Airport, and have to travel by road for two hours to Yamoussoukro.
The Manchester United player arrived in Yamoussoukro an hour before the Indomitable Lions game against Guinea
“He did not respect Cameroon. I was a player like him, and even though I was the most important player in my team, I never acted in this way (arrived on match day, editor’s note).
” The fact that this situation is happening shows that there is a problem, perhaps even within the federation. He risks losing big because he has alienated the Cameroonian supporters, as well as many African supporters and undoubtedly certain members of the team” Said Adebayor.
Cameroon will take on Defending Champions, Senegal on Friday in Yamoussoukro.
