Nigeria Super Eagles will clash with Antelopes of Angola on Friday in the first Quarter Finals match of the 2023 AFCON.
After qualifying as runners-up from Group A, the Super Eagles delivered a comprehensive display against Cameroon in the round of 16 to advance to the quarter-final stage of the competition.
Angola stand between them and a place in the last four, with the former booking their spot in the last eight with a 3-0 win over Namibia.
Nigeria Coach Peseiro was asked why his team appears to play better against the big sides; Ivory Coast and Cameroon and If his team’s performance drops against Angola who most people consider an underdog.
“See, I want to just win every game, I don’t know what Nigerians think about names in football but if we must defeat Angola, we must play like today,” He said
Nigeria will play at Abidjan’s Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny against Angola in the quarter-finals of the competition on Friday, 2 February. It will be on the same turf the Super Eagles beat Cameroon in the round of 16, to advance in the competition.
