Rigobert Song, head coach of the Indomitable Lions says he does not believe the Super Eagles are good enough to win the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Nigeria Super Eagles eliminated Cameroon with a 2-0 victory in the Africa Cup of Nations, advancing to the quarter-finals where they will face Angola.
Ademola Lookman’s brace ensured Nigeria a place in next weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals as they beat long-standing foes Cameroon 2-0 in the last 16 on Saturday.
Lookman’s 36th-minute goal at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium opened the scoring and he contributed a second on the stroke of full time as Nigeria largely outplayed Cameroon.
Rigobert Song reacting to the defeat said “The Nigeria team can’t win the 2023 AFCON despite eliminating the five-time African Champions.
Nigeria will take on the Antelopes of Angola who beat Namibia 3-0 in the quarter-finals.
