Nigeria coach, José Peseiro, hopes that God will allow the Super Eagles to achieve their first victory at the 2023 AFCON against host Ivory Coast. The two West African giants face each other this Thursday in their second Game of Group A.
A big challenge for Victor Osimhen and the Eagles who will face the Elephants, hosts of the competition, with a dream of qualifying for the round of 16 this evening.
According to Peseiro, only God can grant The Super Eagles victory against the Elephants of Ivory Coast.
The Portuguese was asked about Eagle’s chances of victory today, and told the journalist that “it’s in God’s hands.”
It’s worth noting that Nigeria’s Super Eagles secured a 1-1 draw in their initial Group A clash against Equatorial Guinea on January 14th.
The upcoming second match is scheduled against the host nation, Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), on January 18, 2023, while the final group fixture awaits against Guinea Bissau on Monday, January 22, 2023.
