Rigobert Song reacting to the defeat said “We took a team of young players to the AFCON competition. Some of the players are new to the game. We’re the ones who give our opponents opportunities to cause us problems. Today, as I’ve said in the past, we’re rebuilding. We’re going to grow, that’s football. The CAF Africa Cup of Nations is a competition that’s played on all levels: technical, tactical, but also mental. With our youth today, we’ve shown that we still have a lot to learn.”
Cameroon the Bronze Medal in the 2021 AFCON when they hosted, won just a game at the 2023 AFCON recording a draw to Guinea and defeats to Senegal and Nigeria.
