Indomitable Lions of Cameroon captain Vincent Aboubakar will be available for selection in the Cameroon round 16 match against the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday.
Aboubakar who picked up an injury missed the Indomitable Lions Group phase matches where they struggled to make it to round 16 in a last-minute win against Gambia Scorpions.
The 31-year-old Besiktas striker injured his thigh on the Eve of AFCON, and promptly received treatment at a hospital in Yamoussoukro, where he was diagnosed with a muscle tear.
Aboubakar, who claimed the competition’s Golden Boot in 2022 on home soil with eight goals, is set to compete in his fourth AFCON tournament.
He was a Nations Cup winner with Cameroon in 2017, scoring an 88th-minute winner in the final as the Central Africans defeated Egypt 2-1 in Libreville to clinch their fifth title.
The Cameroon Captain will play his first game at the 2023 AFCON when they clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday.
