Angola Coach Pedro Gonçalves has named two players his side must stop for them to beat the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
In anticipation of the match, the 47-year-old spoke to the media and singled out Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman as the standout players for the Super Eagles.
Osimhen and Lookman were the star players when Nigeria beat Cameroon in the round of 16.
Angola finished as Group D winners beating Mauritania and Burkina Faso before beating the Brave Warriors of Namibia in the round of 16.
“I, in the FIFA votes, also voted for him as one of the best players in the world, so we will play against a selection equipped with players with a lot of talent, who have tremendous, jaw-dropping playing capacity, a lot of speed, especially derived from the two forwards, Osimhen and Lookman, who, add great vertigo to the game.
“On the other hand, he has played with three very robust central defenders who are extremely adapted.” He said.
Angola will play Nigeria at Abidjan’s Stade Félix Houphouet-Boigny in the quarter-finals of the competition on Friday, 2 February. It will be on the same turf the Super Eagles beat Cameroon in the round of 16, to advance in the competition.
