The Nigeria Men’s National Basketball team has withdrawn from the 2025 FIBA Afrobasket qualifiers due to a lack of funds.
D’Tigers have been struggling since the 2020 Olympic games were most first players withdrew from the team due to the tussle in the federation.
The 2015 Champions were paired in Group B alongside Cape Verde, Uganda, and Libya who beat Morocco in a playoff on Tuesday to join the group.
Nigeria was supposed to play their first game against Libya on Friday, February 23rd, Uganda on the 24th, and Caper Verde on the 25th.
Despite several 2020 Olympians willing to return to the team and help them qualify after so many tussles between the players and federation, D’Tigers will forfeit this AfroBasket Qualifier window due to lack of funds from the government according to NBBF.
