A list of coaches targeted by Cameroon FA to succeed Rigobert Song as the head coach of Indomitable Lions has been revealed.
The list involved some coaches like Hugo Broos and Antonio Conceiçao who have taken charge of the Indomitable before leaving for other teams.
Below are the list of coaches that have been linked to take over the Job of the Indomitable Lioness.
Raymond Domenech
Raymond managed the France national team from 2004 to 2010, reaching the 2006 FIFA World Cup Final before he was dismissed after their elimination from the 2010 FIFA World Cup, for serious misconduct.
After 10 years of being away, Domenech later signed with Ligue 1 side FC Nantes. but was released from his duties as head coach a year later after not winning a single game in his 8 matches in charge
Jürgen Klinsmann
Klinsmann was relieved of his duty as South Korea coach after the team crashed out in the Semifinals finals of the 2023 Asia Cup.
Klinsmann managed the German national team to a third-place finish at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and was subsequently coach of several other teams including, notably, Bundesliga club Bayern Munich, the United States national team, and the South Korea national football team.
Antoine Kombouaré
French coach Antoine Krilone Kombouaré is among the targeted coaches to take over the Indomitable Lions.
Kombouaré Has managed different clubs like Strasbourg, Valenciennes, PSG Dijon, Al-Hilal, Giungamp, Toulouse, and Nantes.
The Indomitable Lions might be the first national team he will take charge of if appointed.
Hervé Renard
Renard is the current manager of the France women’s national team and is one of the coaches Cameroon is targeting.
The French man has managed four teams in Africa namely, Angola, Zambia, Ivory Coast, and Morocco winning the African title with Zambia in 2012 and Ivory Coast in 2015.
Renard is expected to return to Africa after failing to lead the French women to the final of the 2023 World Cup and UEFA Nations Cup title.
Antonio Conceiçao
The Portuguese football manager is likely to make a return to Cameroon after he was dismissed on 28 February 2022 for failing to win the 2021 AFCON as host.
Hugo Broos
With rumors of Hugo Broos planning on leaving as the head coach of the South African Bafana Bafana, He might be setting his eyes on a second return to Cameroon.
Broos led the Cameroon national team to their 5th Africa Cup of Nations title in 2017 before being laid off as Cameroon’s coach in February 2018.
