French News outlet Le Monde has revealed that Wilfried Douala Nathan presented himself as 21-year-old Alexandre Bardelli in 2022
This comes after the Cameroonian Federation suspended 62 players for age fraud, including Wilfried Nathan Douala who played for Cameroon club, Victoria United and was among the Indomitable Lions squad at the last AFCON.
Nathan who claimed to be 17 was among the 62 suspended for double identity suspected of having concealed their true age.

The Victoria United (OPOPO) midfielder, whose license shows “Born on May 15th, 2006” allegedly cheated on his age.
But recently The French media outlet says they met and filmed Wilfried Douala Nathan in January 2022 and during the report, the player said he was 21 years old. He also gave his name as Alexandre Bardelli. Then, the player was playing for Oryx Douala.
Le Monde also reports the player has an IG account whose name has been changed twice since its creation in 2016. To be sure that Wilfried Douala Nathan is the same person as Alexandre Bardelli, Le Monde used face recognition software aside from identifying the same tattoos and scars on both personalities.
Le Monde says it reached out to FECAFOOT to raise concerns about the player’s double identity when he was called for the AFCON but the Federation did not respond.
