Africans are in pain after seeing the difficult groups the continent representatives fall into after the Draws for the 2024 Paris Women’s Olympic Games football event were revealed
The draw for the women’s Olympic football tournament took place today (Wednesday 20 March) at Le Pulse Building in Saint-Denis, Paris.
According to most African fans, it will be difficult for any of the four teams still in the qualification race to survive the group they have been paired into.
The draw conducted yesterday will see the winner between Nigeria/South Africa landing in Group C with the world champions Spain, Japan and Brazil.
The other African representative that will come from the winner between Zambia and Morocco will join Group B with the USA (four-time Olympic Champions), Germany (Rio 2016 champions) and Australia.
The best finished by an African team in the Olympics is the 2004 Olympic Games where Nigeria was knockout in the quarter-finals by Germany
The final round of the CAF Women’s Qualifiers Final Round will be held between April 5th and 9th.
