Nigeria has been drawn into difficult groups in the Curling event at the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics Games.
The Nigeria team who are Africa’s sole representative in the 2024 Winter Olympic Games are in Group A alongside China, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, Sweden, Türkiye, and the United States in the Mixed team event while in the Mixed double events, Nigeria will face Canada, Czechia, Great Britain, Hungary, and host Korea in Group A.
The history-making teenagers secured Nigeria’s spot at the Games following their participation at the World Junior-B Curling Championships held in Lohja, Finland, in December 2022.
The mixed team event, games will begin on Saturday 20 January. The 16 participating teams will play a round-robin in two groups that runs until the afternoon of Wednesday 24 January.
The mixed double-event competition will feature 24 teams divided into four groups. The round-robin stage will start on Friday 26 January and conclude in the afternoon of Wednesday 31 January.
In total, 106 young curlers will represent their National Olympic Committee at the Winter Youth Olympic Games in Gangwon, Korea from Friday 19 January until Thursday 1 February 2024
