Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, is set to elevate the Enyimba Stadium in Aba to FIFA international standards, boasting a 35,000-seat capacity.
Governor Otti held a strategic meeting with Tianjin-Yuyang Construction Engineering Co. Limited (TYC), one of the leading construction companies in China. The company has expressed a keen interest in partnering with the Abia State Government for the construction of a FIFA international standard stadium.
According to reports, Soil test for the Abia State’s proposed 35,000 FIFA-approved stadium begins.
This was disclosed by the commissioner for Sports, Sir Obilor Ananaba in a press briefing on Tuesday at Umuahia.
Three different locations had been pencilled down to build a standard stadium in the state according to FIFA specifications. The selected locations will be communicated after finalization.
