The Confederation of African Football’s (CAF’s) highly anticipated African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 is set to kick off on January 13 in the Ivory Coast, where the continent’s biggest stars are expected to shine after an impressive showing for their respective clubs and the Qatar World Cup 2022.
Since the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (2023 AFCON) is kicking off on January 13, 2024, we want to take a look at what kits will be on display at the tournament hosted by Ivory Coast.
Out of the 24 national teams, Puma supplies by far the most with 6. Lacatoni is the only other brand to outfit more than one team, meaning there are 18 different manufacturers in total. This kind of brand diversity is rare to see, especially considering Puma makes up a quarter of the shares.
The big brands – Adidas, Nike, and Puma – won’t release new kits for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. There is a small chance that Puma will bring out new looks, but apparently, Puma opted for new anthem jackets and off-pitch styles only. These were released in Fall 2023.
Seven African teams namely, Namibia, Zambia, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, and Mali will be using made-in-African kits for the 2023 AFCON.
The tournament kicks off on Saturday, 13 January when the hosts will take on Guinea-Bissau at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan.
