The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has published the names of foreign embassies owing ground rent in Abuja.
According to the list, a total of $5.36m is being owed.
A memo titled Final Notice on Payment of Outstanding Ground Rent in the FCT, gave those affected organizations just two weeks to pay up.
The list has 33 embassies owing ground rent.
Some of the foreign countries with outstanding ground rent include Saudi Arabia, Turkey, South Korea, Russia, France, Iraq, Italy, and Spain.
African countries on the list comprised Senegal, Algeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, Niger, South Africa
Zambia and Niger Republic had the most outstanding rents standing at $2 million each.
The US Embassy for peace came in next at $597,396.
The French embassy (French school) was at the bottom with $323.
