According to reports, multiple members of the Cameroon Indomitable Lions’ technical staff (excluding Rigobert Song) are ready to quit the national team.
This is due to Samuel Eto’o’s excessive involvement in the technical and tactical management of the Cameroon team.
The report says that the choice of players, as well as the game plans and their animations during the Lions’ last three games in the competition, were, dictated by Eto’o, “who coordinated the training sessions” in front of a stunned and confused technical staff.
The Indomitable Lions were eliminated by the Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday. Nigeria beat Cameroon 2-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations, advancing to the quarter-finals where they will face Angola.
Ademola Lookman’s brace ensured Nigeria a place in next weekend’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals as they beat long-standing foes Cameroon 2-0 in the last 16 on Saturday.
Lookman’s 36th-minute goal at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium opened the scoring and he contributed a second on the stroke of full time as Nigeria largely outplayed Cameroon.
