The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is considering appointing Augustine Eguavoen as an interim coach before the appointment of a new Head Coach for the Super Eagles.
This is coming after Portuguese coach, Jose Peseiro stepped down as the head coach of the Super Eagles earlier today.
Eguavoen was in charge of the Super Eagles during the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon where they were knocked out in the round of 16 after finishing unbeaten in their group.
Eguavoen was later relieved of his duty after he failed to qualify the Super Eagles for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
In his second return, Eguavoen will be assisted by Finidi George, who has stayed the longest with Peseiro among all indigenous coaches appointed to work with the Portuguese by the Amaju Pinnick-led board for 22 months.
