Nigerian and Fenerbahçe defender Bright Osayi-Samuel will face no punishment over combat with pitch invaders in Trabzonspor.
The disciplinary committee which was set up to investigate the player has ruled that Samuel will face no punishment as he only employed a self defense measure.
The Turkish Football Federation announced on Monday that the defender had been listed among the three players who will appear at a disciplinary hearing of the TFF in the wake of the pitch invasion, which happened during a league game involving Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce on March 17.
The attack took place after the Fenerbahce players and coaching staff celebrated their victory, with the visitors goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic being punched in the face by a fan of Trabzonspor.
Osayi-Samuel, 26, punched one of the supporters who ran onto the pitch with his face masked, with Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde accused of kicking the same supporter.A third player will also appear before the disciplinary body along with two club employees for “fighting”, the TFF said.
But the Turkish FA committee cleared Osayi Samuel and ruled that Trabzonspor will play next six games behind closed doors.
