Africa’s second-largest stadium, situated in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital was opened yesterday.
The stadium hosted the new FIFA series involving Egypt and New Zealand while Tunisia takes on Croatia in a thrilling friendly tournament.
Matches are scheduled from March 22 to 26, featuring national teams from Egypt, New Zealand, Croatia, and Tunisia.
Egypt Stadium can accommodate nearly 94,000 supporters, becoming the country’s largest stadium after exceeding the prestigious Cairo International Stadium which accommodates up to 80,000 fans.
The Pharaohs beat New Zealand with the’ winning goal coming a minutes before halftime, with Mostafa Mohamed converting a penalty earned by Emam Ashour, securing Egypt’s spot in the final.
The Pharaohs enjoyed tremendous support from the fans, who were eager to attend the inauguration of the Egypt Stadium in the New Administrative Capital.
Egypt will face the winner between Tunisia and Croatia, who will face off on Saturday night.
