The Nigeria Super Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar trained with Real Sociedad and has been listed for this week’s La Liga clash against Osasuna.
The player was confirmed to have sustained an injury in training with the Super Eagles before the start of the AFCON and was ruled out for three weeks.
But the player was seen training with the Real Sociedad team a day after he arrived in Spain.
The Spanish Club statement revealed that the Nigeria medical team’s scans showed he’s injured but he’s now possibly in line to play for the club this weekend
In response to what people have been saying the Nigeria Football Federation released a statement saying ” They ( Nigeria medical team) followed all due processes and protocol in tandem with the consultant knee surgeon that the player himself contacted in pain before the decision was made in the interest of the nation and the career of the player ”
Umar was part of Nigeria 25 Man squad list but has been replaced by Paul Onuachu as Nigeria prepares to take on Host Ivory Coast On Thursday.
