Eto’o pointed out that while George Weah notably won the award, he questioned if Weah was the sole African recipient. He cited the achievements of other African football icons like Roger Milla, emphasizing that despite their prowess, they never secured the Ballon d’Or.

Toure’s exceptional performances in England, according to Eto’o, warranted consideration for the Ballon d’Or.
