The University of Ghana Stadium was commissioned yesterday by the Vice President of Ghana, DR Mahamudu Bawumia.
The University of Ghana Sports Stadium, Games Village, and other facilities are ready to host various disciples at the upcoming 13th African Games 2023.
The construction of this multi-purpose stadium started in 2004 under the administration of former President John Agyekum Kufuor before it was completed by President President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as he promised for the All African Games.
The organizers have renovated about 2,900 rooms, which are to house 5,800 athletes, coaches, and staff.
Dome Site, which is located in the Diaspora section of the University of Ghana campus has two 500-seater capacity tents that will serve as the cafeteria, a 10-bed clinic, and a kitchen where the athletes will be served their daily meals.

There is also a car park with 1,500 slots for cars and has been decorated with trees.
The facility is expected to be handed over to the Management of the University of Ghana after the African Games.
