At 16 years and 243 days, Trey Nyoni is the youngest Liverpool player to ever appear in the FA Cup and the third-youngest player in the Cup history.
Jerome Sinclair (16 years and six days) and Harvey Elliott (16 years and 174 days) make up the top two currently.
Trey Nyoni was a surprise name in Liverpool’s squad against Chelsea. Having made the move to Anfield during the summer, he has risen quickly through the ranks.
And after months of waiting, Nyoni made history on Wednesday, when he replaced Harvey Elliott in the 78th minute of Liverpool’s 3-0 win against Southampton.
He shared a special hug with Jurgen Klopp before coming onto the pitch.
Nyoni is eligible to play for England, the country of his birth, or Zimbabwe through his parents.
The youngster has played for the England U16 team where he scored and assisted a goal on his debut for England U16 in August 2022, a 3–2 victory over Italy U16.
Nyoni was also called up to the England U17 team in October 2023
